From a 68 hectare vineyard, Château Poujeaux is a red wine produced in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Aged 35 years on average, the vines benefit from soils made up of Gravel Garonnaises gunziennes. The wine is aged in barrels (30% of which in new barrels) for 12 months. The 2016 vintage blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The mild and dry winter gives way to a cool spring with a high rainfall, causing a delay in the development of the vines. However, thanks to a pleasant beginning of June, flowering is optimal and homogeneous. The hot and dry summer then allowed the berries to obtain magnificent concentration and superb maturity, until the harvest which took place from October 4 to 21. At the tasting, Château Poujeaux 2016 reveals a magnificent concentration and a very great maturity. The quality of the property's terroirs have thus been able to express their potential and give the wine great aromatic complexity.
