The color of Mouton-Rothschild 2005 is dark and sustained. The nose is elegant and combines fine notes of wood, vanilla, black fruits and wild berries. Spicy menthol notes appear to complete this superb aromatic palette which brings a lot of freshness. and delicacy in this very early vintage, accessible to the nose without lacking in density and depth. The palate is powerful and ample at the same time. This reveals dense, creamy and greedy tannins where blackcurrant notes combine, giving an impression of crunchiness of the fruit. An absolute truth when you have it in your mouth. The finish is very long and very precise. The Mouton-Rothschild 2005 is one of the very great vintages of Pauillac with an astonishing aging capacity.
