Displaying a very dark, purplish and almost black color, the 2016 vintage of Château Léoville Poyferré has great aromatic power, delivering fragrances of violet, black cherry and cassis, all in a sensation of great freshness and purity of black fruits. . Tight and lively on the attack, the wine develops in the mid-palate on a sappy tannic texture with fine grain, shoulder width, a creamy side, all not without elegance. The finish is harmonious, fruity and the whole is a total success. Surely one of the finest Léoville Poyferré wines ever made.
