Description
The refinement and freshness of a Saint-Julien Cru Classé
The estate
With wines that achieve excellence and elegance vintage after vintage, Château Léoville Las Cases is now one of the most iconic estates in the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation on the left bank of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
A family-owned Estate since the 19th century, the Château de Léoville Las Cases is a Grand Cru Classé of the appellation Saint Julien. The current manager is Jean-Hubert Delon, sole owner. The vineyard being a grouping of several ancient estates, Léoville las Cases produces two great wines, each one the expressions of their own terroir: The Château Léoville Las Cases, on the historical parts of the old Estate, and the Marquis de las Cases, from the Clos next to the Castle.
The vintage
Marked by early bud break, 2021 was also characterized by a later harvest than in recent vintages. The rigor and expertise of the estate's teams enabled them to support the vineyard throughout the growing cycle. Despite unstable weather conditions, the harvested grapes were of consistent quality and maturity.
The blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Cabernet Franc (15%), and Merlot (5%).
Tasting
This 2021 vintage perfectly expresses the nuances and identity of each grape variety. The elegance and complexity of the Cabernets blend harmoniously with the smooth and creamy Merlots. This Grand Vin from Château Léoville Las Cases 2021 seduces with its finesse, refinement, rich aromatic palette, and beautiful freshness.
