The property :
As one of the oldest estates in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Haut-Marbuzet has a rich history dating back to 1770. Hervé Duboscq acquired the property in 1952 with the ambition of making great wines revealing all the potential of these great terroirs of the left bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard :
The vines that make up the 66-hectare vineyard are on average 30 years old. They are planted on a gravelly hilltop and a clayey-limestone subsoil.
Vinification :
Manual harvest from September 19th to October 11th. Maceration for 25 days.
Maturation :
Matured in new pedunculate oak barrels.
Blending :
Merlot (55%), cabernet sauvignon (35%), cabernet franc (5%), petit verdot (5%).
Tasting :
The color of this 2019 Chateau Haut-Marbuzet is dark and intense. The bouquet is delicately toasted and evolves on notes of violets and bigarreau. The intensity of the robe of this great Bordeaux wine is found in the mouth. At first restrained, the attack in mouth precedes an opulent and rich matter.
