The estate
Château du Tertre is a Margaux 5th Cru Classé located on Bordeaux’s Left Bank of Bordeaux. Since its purchase at the end of 1997 by Eric Albada Jelgersma, considerable investments have been made to elevate this exceptional terroir of rare uniformity. Since January 2021, Château du Tertre has been run by the Helfrich family, managers of the trading company Les Grands Chais de France.
Château du Tertre 2022 is a Margaux wine from a 52-hectare vineyard, 40 hectares of which are in production. The sandy-clay gravel of this exceptional terroir prevents excessive water stress during hot, dry weather by ensuring sufficient water reserves.
Winemaking and ageing
Manual harvesting. Vinification in wooden, concrete and stainless-steel vats. Gentle extractions accompanied by pumping over. Maceration for about twenty days. Aged for 14 to 16 months in Bordeaux barrels (60% of which are new and 40% one wine).

Cabernet Sauvignon (57%)
Cabernet Franc (23%)
Merlot (15%)
Petit Verdot (5%).
Tasting
This 2022 vintage harmoniously releases the nuances of each grape variety that make up the blend. The freshness and delicious taste of the Merlot and the elegance and silky feel of the Cabernet Franc mingle with the concentration and power of the Petit Verdot, and with the density and balance of the Cabernet Sauvignon. An exceptional vintage, with wonderful density and maturity.
