The property :
Château du Tertre is a grand cru of Margaux located on the left bank of Bordeaux. Since its purchase at the end of 1997 by Eric Albada Jelgersma, considerable investments have been made in order to sublimate this exceptional terroir of a rare homogeneity.
The vineyard :
Château du Terte watches over a beautiful 45-hectare vineyard located in the Margaux appellation. The sandy-clay gravel of this exceptional terroir prevents excessive water stress during hot and dry weather by ensuring a constant availability of water.
Vinification
Harvest from September 23rd to October 11th. Manual and optical sorting. Wooden, concrete and stainless steel vats. Maceration for 21 days, thermo-regulated at 24°C.
Maturation :
Aged for 12 months. French oak barrels. 30% new wood.
Blend :
Cabernet sauvignon (54%), merlot (27%), cabernet franc (13%), petit verdot (6%).
Tasting :
As an en primeur, Château du Tertre 2019 is a dense and greedy wine that is both fresh and aromatic. A great complex Bordeaux wine to be appreciated in its youth and which will be able to reveal all its potential when kept.
