Collectie: AOC HAUT-MEDOC

The Haut-Médoc AOC is located south of the Médoc appellation. The Haut-Médoc appellation produces only red wines (220,000 hl/year) on 4,800 ha including 6 renowned communal appellations: Margaux, Moulis, Listrac, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe.

On gravel and clay-limestone soils, the dominant grape variety is Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by Merlot, with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

These are wines with a high ageing potential. When young, the wines of Haut-Médoc have a solid tannic side: some wines cannot be tasted before several years. They then offer a supple and fleshy development and give wines with complex aromatic bouquets of red fruits. Aging in oak barrels brings aromas of roasting and leather.
